A INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL COMO INSTRUMENTO DE APOIO À DECISÃO JUDICIAL

This paper aims to analyze the transformations brought about by the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Brazilian legal system, highlighting how this technology can increase efficiency, procedural speed, and access to justice. It seeks to investigate how the adoption of AI tools can help resolve hyper-litigation and democratize access to legal information. The Brazilian judiciary faces a progressive crisis of hyper-litigation, characterized by an exponential increase in lawsuits and the difficulty of ensuring agile and accessible justice. Furthermore, there is an informational asymmetry between legal professionals and laypersons, leading to challenges in understanding and accessing justice. The regulation of AI usage also raises ethical questions related to data protection, as it is essential to safeguard privacy and transparency in handling sensitive information. The research is based on a qualitative and bibliographic analysis, involving a review of academic literature and the collection of data regarding the introduction of AI in the Brazilian judiciary. Case studies and reports of practical experiences in the adoption of AI in courts will be examined, as well as an investigation into jurimetrics as a predictive tool. The methodology also includes evaluating the guidelines covered by the General Data Protection Law and analyzing the ethical and social implications of AI in access to justice.
